Bethany, MO: Bruce Williams signs a dedication for Kay Thomas, left, of his new book “And So It Was: A History of Harrison County Missouri Through Newspapers.” Williams held a book signing for his collection of short stories about Harrison County on Monday morning at The Gathering Place. The 320-page book has hundreds of stories about the people and events of Harrison County from before the county’s founding in 1845 to today. The book’s topics range from infamous murders to burglaries to the development of communities, all taken from the pages of the county’s scores of newspapers. Bruce, a retired minister and teacher, has nearly sold out his entire run of 400 books.
