Eagleville residents win top awards at National Junior Angus Show

Cooper and Mardee Sadowsky of Eagleville competed in the National Junior Angus Show in Grand Island, Neb.,, from July 3 to July 9. In total, the sisters brought home 11 awards at the end of the event.

Cooper was awarded first place in the senior division of extemporaneous speaking, and received a custom engraved belt buckle in the name of the late Richard L. Spader for her win. Other awards she received individually in the senior division were second place in the quiz bowl and in creative writing.

The Missouri II team, which Cooper was also a part of, finished first in team marketing, and her team for the senior division of team sales finished in third place.

The American Angus Auxiliary presents the Crystal Award to the top boy and top girl in contest performance, and named Cooper the top girl for this year’s event. Cooper also received the $5,000 Angus/Talon Youth Educational Learning Program Undergraduate scholarship.

Mardee competed in the intermediate division, and was awarded first place in extemporaneous speaking, second place in photography around the farm and ranch, and third place in prepared public speaking. For her first place finish in extemporaneous speaking, Mardee was also presented with the Harvey Rattey bronze sculpture in the name of the late Pat Grote. Her team in intermediate team marketing also finished first.
