Bethany, MO: Phil and Kathy Conger, publishers of the Bethany Republican-Clipper, display a resolution entered in the Congressional Record honoring the newspaper for its 150th anniversary. Congressman Sam Graves, sixth district, introduced the resolution recognizing the anniversary in the record of the 118th Congress. The Bethany Republican was founded in 1873 and was later consolidated with the Bethany Clipper in 1929 following their purchase by Erwin C. Conger. The resolution said, “The Republican-Clipper has the legacy of a strong journalism history in Harrison County, which at one time had at least 10 news publications, and is considered the longest running business in Harrison County.”–Republican-Clipper photo, Brady Sunderland
