
Once again a snowstorm blanketed Bethany and the surrounding areas with more of the white stuff. The county bridge crew shoveled the steps of the courthouse early in the morning.
Bethany, MO: Harrison County was slammed by another winter storm on Monday morning, a prelude to some of the coldest temperatures of the season.
Snow began falling at a more intense rate than had been forecast by the National Weather Service. About four inches of new snow were on the ground by noon with more expected on Tuesday.
This came on the heels of another storm that caused treacherous driving conditions on Wednesday and canceled classes across the county.
The temperature was expected to drop to minus 6 on Tuesday and then to dip further down to minus 13 on Wednesday. Wind gusts were expected to be 20 mph which could lead to drifting of snow. Thursday morning’s low was expected to be -9.
