The Shamrock boys softball team opened their season Thursday, with a tough road loss to the East Harrison boys in Ridgeway. In a game that was high on offense, being the home team, and having that last at bat proved to be valuable for the Bobcats in this exciting matchup to open the HDC season.
The Shamrock boys were able to put 4 runs on the board in the top of the 6th and put themselves in a good positon for the win, before allowing 5 runs to the home team Bobcats in the bottom of the 6th, for a 19-18 end to an exciting first game of the year. Randy Rinehart and Logan Huitt gathered 3 hits apiece, while Collin Castleberry had two hits along with Bobby Hutton and Tyler Lundy’s hits to help the Shamrocks offensively.
Derek Adcock pitched for the Shamrocks and took the tough loss in his first game as starting pitcher.
