You could spend most of your life watching high school basketball and never see a shot like Stanberry’s Collin Sager made at the buzzer to beat South Harrison 42-40 in the consolation game of the Albany Invitational Tournament on Friday night.
With 7-10ths of a second left on the clock, and South Harrison leading 40-39, Sager put up a full-court shot that headed on a straight line to the basket never even hitting the rim as it swished through the net. The gymnasium erupted as the crowd realized what the shot was before the buzzer and gave Stanberry’s Bulldogs a 2-point win after trailing South Harrison through much of the second half. South Harrison’s fans stood in shock as Stanberry’s players celebrated at the end of the court.
