Bill Cook, 66, passed away Sunday, May 1, 2016.
Bill was born August 13, 1949 in Trenton, MO to Louis Lee “L.L.” & Charlotte E. Cook. He grew up on the family farm in Gillman City, MO and in 1966 graduated from Gillman City High School. He then attended Wentworth Military Academy where he played in the marching band that participated in Mardi Gras 1967. Later he moved to Columbia and attended MU. On January 8, 1984 he married Debby Sallee in Camdenton, MO. On November 3, 1987 their son, Loyd was born. Bill had a knack for construction and was able to build most anything from next to nothing. This mindset, of being able to do anything he desired, served him well throughout his career. Bill, with his son, owned and operated Missouri Sand and Gravel in Gallatin, MO for many years. Bill truly enjoyed his work, especially with Loyd. He was also a Mason and Shriner Clown.
Bill is survived by his wife, Debby of Columbia; son, Loyd of St. Joseph, MO and father, L.L. of Cameron, MO.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Charlotte.
Columbia funeral services will be held at 6 pm, Thursday, May 5 at Parker Funeral Service, 22 N. Tenth Street, with visitation from 4 to 6 pm at the funeral home.
Final services will be held at 2 pm, Sunday, May 8 at Turner Funeral Home in Maysville, MO with burial in Fairport Cemetery in Maysville. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm, Saturday, May 7 at Turner Funeral Home.
