BETHANY, MO: Wanda Lee Findley, 81 of Bethany, MO, passed away Saturday, April 23, 2016.
She was born November 6, 1934 and raised in Gentry County, MO the daughter of Jimmie and Ora (Culp) Steinman. They preceded her in death.
Wanda attended school in Albany, MO and was a member of the Wayman Presbyterian Church.
She was united in marriage to Billie Findley on December 23, 1950, where they farmed near Siloam Springs until moving to Bethany in 1956. On September 2, 1956 they enjoyed the birth of their only child, Kathy.
Wanda worked at JC Penney’s in Bethany for 18 years. When it closed, she went to work with Bill at the rock quarry where they both later retired.
She then spent their years enjoying the farm and cattle until Bill passed away in 2000. After Bill’s death, she later met her dear friend and dancing companion John Kirsch of Lineville, IA. The two of them enjoyed dancing and entertaining the crown all over Missouri and Iowa receiving many awards.
In addition to her parents and husband, Wanda was preceded in death by her brother, Billy Paul Steinman.
Survivors include her daughter, Kathy and husband Randy Carter; grandson, Brian that she was so proud of and granddaughters, Hannah and Kinleigh Carter who she loved dearly and truly enjoyed. Also surviving are her brother Robert Steinman and sister-in-law, Eleanor Steinman; 2 half sisters-in-law, Betty Strait and Judy Dierenfeldt, both of Albany, MO; aunts, Mildred Snow, Princeton, MO, Vernadean Steinman, King City, MO; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 27 at Roberson Funeral Home, Bethany, MO. Burial will follow in Miriam Cemetery, Bethany, MO. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
