Vernon D. “PeeWee” McHargue was born January 21, 1928 in Spickard, Missouri, the son of Lawrence Levi and Verl L. (Campbell) McHargue and passed away Friday, July 10, 2015 at a Trenton, Missouri nursing home at the age of 87 years, 5 months and 19 days.
On July 12, 1953, he married Deva Marshall in Trenton, Missouri. She survives of the home.
PeeWee served in the US Army during the Korean War. In 1971, he became a manager for Skelgas in Gilman City, Missouri and retired in 1986. After retirement, he enjoyed wood crafting in his shop and became a supplier of wood crafts for a shop in Jamesport. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Gilman City.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Darryal and Otto Jewel McHargue.
Survivors in addition to his wife, Deva, of 61 years are a son, V. J. McHargue and wife, Judy, St. Louis, Missouri; grandson, Vance Parker McHargue; 2 step grandchildren, Scott Martin and wife, Jackie and Tina Jaworski and husband, Steven; 4 step great grandchildren, Annika and Brogan Jaworski and Justice and Journey Martin.
