Ronnie D. Cornett, 71, Pattonsburg, Mo. passed away peacefully on Sunday June 16, 2019 in his home with his loving family by his side.
He was born on Feb 8, 1948 to Richard Dale “Jack” and Julia (Daniel) Cornett on his family’s farm in Pattonsburg, Mo. It was there he found his love of farming, the outdoors and horseback riding.
He was a 1966 graduate of Pattonsburg High School and then attended Northwest Missouri State University where he received his degree in animal science and general agriculture.
On August 8, 1980 he was married to Pamelia Hamilton and together they raised three children, Jamee, Lincoln and Chase.
Ronnie was a long-time banker and retired from BTC Bank in 2013 after serving as President. He loved his job, though he could often be heard saying he farmed for a living and banked for survival. He spent long nights and weekends operating his farm, his first love.
He enjoyed staying busy and being an active member of the community. In addition to community involvement through BTC, he also served as president of the school board, the Northwest Missouri State Fair board and the Farmers Electric board.
Ronnie had a deep passion and appreciation of horses that he shared with his family and friends. He spent much of his free time riding, training, and caring for them. And while he loved his horses, the only deeper love was for his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son and brother.
He is survived by his wife, Pamelia Cornett; daughter, Jamee Cornett; sons, Lincoln (Marj) Cornett, Chase (Pranith) Cornett; mother, Julia Cornett; sisters, Judy Peters and Bonnie (Richard) Walker, brothers, Larry (Cheryl) Cornett, Danny (Annette) Cornett; grandchildren, Calvin Teel, Carly Cornett, Tanner Teel, Brynn Teel, Cash Teel; great grandchildren, Jaxson Teel, Broox Teel; brother-in-law Jim Hamilton; and sisters-in-law Cindy (Rick) Slatten and Terri Sturdevant.
He was proceeded in death by his father, Richard Dale “Jack” Cornett; paternal grandparents, Robert and Essie Cornett; maternal grandparents, Dale Daniel and Alta Pearl (Daniel) Frazier; brother-in-law, Roger Peters; father-in-law, Harvey Hamilton, and mother-in-law, Carma Burton.
