Peoria, IL: Ronald “Gene” Eugene Preston, age 95, of Peoria, Illinois passed away on Tuesday, June 7, 2022. Ronald was born September 8, 1926 in Mt. Moriah, MO to William and Daisy (Starr) Preston. He married Ermagene Camp on February 3, 1946 in Troy, KS; she preceded him in death on September 17, 2014 in Peoria, IL.
He is survived by his two sons: Stan (Connie) Preston of Peoria, Brad (Kelly) Preston of Indianapolis, IN, two grandchildren: Bart (Lorrie) Preston of Peoria, Kristin (Perry) Stanley of Jewell, IA, six great-grandchildren: Zachary Stanley, Elizabeth Stanley, Alexandria Preston, Sophia Preston, Olivia Preston, Nicholas Oakley Preston: three great-great- grandchildren, Samuel, Quinton, and Hazel Stanley.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Gene retired from Hy Vee after 30 years of service, he then became a school bus driver for 18 years at South Harrison High School in Bethany. He had a great sense of humor, was humble and spiritual. Gene was a proud veteran.
Funeral Services will be Monday, June 13, 2022 at 11 AM with visitation an hour prior at the First Assembly of God Church in Peoria. Pastor Jason Persinger will officiate.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at 1 PM at Lloyd Cemetery in Mt. Moriah, MO.
