Ridgeway, MO: Ronald âRonâ Eugene Claycomb, 63, of Ridgeway, MO, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, December 14, 2019 in Bethany, MO.
He was born November 16, 1956 in Bethany, MO, the son of Darrel and Erma Jean (Nible) Claycomb. In 1975, he graduated from Ridgeway R-V High School and joined the United States Air Force where he was stationed at Whiteman Air Force Base in Knob Noster, MO as a Military Policeman. He and his wife, Carolyn (Pottorff) soon welcomed son, Robbie Dee on December 30, 1975, and daughter, Traci Lynn on August 18, 1977. Ron and Carolyn later divorced. He then met and married Sherry (Ellis), where they welcomed daughter, Kayla Jean, on June 2, 1990. They later divorced.
Ron had 4 pride and joys in his life, he had a special bond with each one of them that couldnât be broken. If you knew him, you knew them because thatâs all he talked about. They joined the family as Grant Matthew on January 18, 2003, Hailey Dawn on July 23, 2006, Gage Allen on August 31, 2009, and Ryker Wayne on July 4, 2010. They travelled the area together going to various NH Shamrock events. He was raised as an Owl, but he had a deep love for the Shamrocks. He supported all the kids as his own, you could find him at most of their activities. Some of his favorites were seeing his grandsons harvest deer, watching them play baseball and basketball, and watching his âfavorite granddaughterâ dance.
Ron had various jobs in his life including burying phone cable in Louisiana, driving a semi-truck across the United States, working for various farming operations, assisting with hurricane cleanup, and most recently was found helping Dale Farms.
Ron is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Robbie & Kelly Claycomb of Ridgeway; daughter and son-in-law, Traci & Jeramy Bridgman of Vero Beach, FL, daughter and son-in-law, Kayla & Kody Fortner of Eagleville; grandsons, Grant Claycomb, Gage Fortner, and Ryker Fortner; granddaughter, Hailey Claycomb; brothers and sisters-in-law, Daniel & Phyllis of Ridgeway, Randall & Alisha of Bethany, Roger & Sarah of Bethany; Aunt Libby Nible of Bethany, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by parents, Darrel & Erma Claycomb, as well as many other friends and family.
Ron has been cremated under the direction of Roberson Funeral Home, Bethany, MO. Memorial Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 20 at Roberson Funeral Home, Bethany, MO. Inurnment will follow in Ridgeway Cemetery, Ridgeway, MO. The family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
