BROOKFIELD, MO: Robert Lee Baldwin, Sr., age 78, died January 4, 2017, quietly in his sleep at Life Care Center in Brookfield, Mo.
Mr. Baldwin was born to Thomas Clark Baldwin, Sr. and Ruby Irene Sampsell on December 17, 1938 in Oshkosh, WI. He was one of seven children. He served in the US Army and after his discharge, he returned to the Midwest. He met his wife-to-be, Rose Pontius, in 1961 and they were married July 22, 1962. They had three children, Marna Rose Ortiz (David) of Lake Havasu City, AZ, Thomas Clark Baldwin of Summerville, South Carolina, and Robert Lee “Hoss” Baldwin, Jr. (Andrea) of Yelm, Washington.
During his life Mr. Baldwin was a welder, heavy equipment operator, and small business owner.
He is survived by his former wife, Rose, his three children, sisters Vera Carson of Waupun, WI and Rita Zeorness of Turney, Mo, brother John Edward Baldwin of Seale, AL, six grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, four great-grandchild, numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father; brother, Thomas Clark Baldwin, Jr., and sisters, Peggy Saunders and Carol Jean Thorson.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 12, at Roberson Funeral Home, Bethany, MO. Burial with Military Rites will follow at Glaze Cemetery, Cainsville, MO.
