Richard Howard Madison, 71, went home to be with the Lord on June 23, 2021, peacefully at his home in Olive Branch, Mississippi.
Richard is survived by his wife, Dalene (Mitchell) Madison; daughter, Stacey Madison Bowers (Steven) of Southaven, MS; son, Scott Howard Madison of Overland Park, KS; daughter, Sarah Madison Mashburn (Vince) of Hernando, MS. Eight grandchildren: Kylie and Dylan Bowers, Lanie, Luke and Jack Madison, Eli, Noah and Adam Mashburn.
He is also survived by his sister, Ronilu Thompson (David) of Savannah, MO and 2 brothers Roland Madison of Bethany, MO and Rod Madison of Liberty, MO and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents LaVerne and Eloise (Quinton) Madison both of Bethany, MO and sister, RaeAnne Madison.
Richard was born to Kenneth LaVerne and Eloise (Quinton) Madison in Bethany, MO at Reid Hospital in September 5, 1949. Richard and Dalene were married December 20, 1969 in Bethany, MO. They remained in Bethany until 1980, where he worked for White Auto. Throughout his career he remained in the Automotive Aftermarket Industry, with just retiring from HighLine Aftermarket in December 2020.
Richard was a member, deacon and Sunday School teacher of Ridgeway Baptist Church of Memphis, Tennessee, since relocating to Memphis in 1986. He was an avid sports fan. He played football, basketball and ran track in high school. He continued his love of sports by being a huge KC Royals, KC Chiefs and Mizzou Tigers fan to the very end. He loved spending time with family and especially loved attending all the sporting activities of his grandchildren.
The family will receive relatives and friends in Memphis from 5:30-7:30 pm Friday, June 25 at Ridgeway Baptist Church, 2500 Ridgeway Road, Memphis, TN 38119. The family will then travel back to their hometown of Bethany, MO for the Funeral Services. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 28, 2021 at Roberson Funeral Home, 1107 S. 25th St., Bethany, MO. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Morris Chapel Cemetery, Bethany, MO.
