Olathe, KS: Rebecca (Becky) Long, 64, Olathe, KS, passed away Saturday, December 22, 2018 at Menorah Medical Center.
She was born November 19, 1954, in Bethany, Missouri the oldest daughter of Irvin and Betty Long.
Becky grew up in Gladstone, MO and graduated from Oak Park High School in 1973. She attended William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri and graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology in 1977. She also studied abroad at Harlaxton College in Lincolnshire, England.
Becky spent her career in the banking industry, with long-term professions at both Bank of America and United Missouri Bank. While at UMB, she received the âShining Star Awardâ for highest performer on her team on several occasions and the âCount on More Award for Thinking Like an Ownerâ for innovatively saving the bank and its customers from fraud losses. Her friends and coworkers considered her family, and she will always be in their hearts.
Becky was an avid music lover, playing both the viola and piano. She was a member of the North Kansas City Community Orchestra and was praised for her singing voice. She was a devout Christian and a member of Englewood Baptist Church for most of her life. She sang in the choir and was often asked to perform as a soloist.
She lived at Travanse Living and loved her friends and community there. She learned hidden talents such as painting and enjoyed socializing with her extended family. She was known as a joyful, kind-hearted and loving person who would brighten the lives of all those she interacted with.
Becky was a special daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her sister, Danna Jardon (Gary) of Overland Park, KS; brother, Eric Long (Sarah) of Leawood, KS; nephews, Bryce Jardon, Travor (Mercedes) Jardon, niece, Ava Long; and great niece, Zoë Jardon.
    Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 29, at the Englewood Baptist Church, Gladstone, MO under the direction of Roberson Funeral Home, Bethany, MO. The family will receive friends from 10:00 -11:00 a.m. Saturday at the church. A second visitation will be held from 2:30 â 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Roberson Funeral Home, Bethany, MO followed by a graveside service at 3:30 p.m. in the Miriam Cemetery, Bethany, MO. Online condolences may be left at www.robersonfuneralhome.com.
