HATFIELD, MO: Phyllis Jean Pottorf, 77 of Hatfield, Mo., passed away Monday, October 3, 2016 at Clearview Home, Mt. Ayr, Iowa.
She was born November 8, 1938 in Adair County, Mo., the daughter of John Leo and Virginia Mae (Peckham) Kinyon.
On December 3, 1957 she married Mick Pottorff in Creston, Iowa. He preceded her in death on September 2, 2016.
Phyllis was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, state of Iowa Unit 96 of Lorimor, Iowa, and she was election judge for Lincoln Township.
In addition to her husband, Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, William “Butch” Kinyon and Paul Eugene Kinyon.
Survivors include sons, Tom (Gayla) Pottorff, Hatfield, Mo., Tim (Anita) Pottorff, Weldon, Iowa; daughter, Teyoni (Ted) Scheve, Metropolis, Ill.; sister-in-law, Zelpha May Ray, Texarkana, Ark.; grandchildren, Laura Reynolds, Charrissa (Bobby) Lewis, Seth (Amanda) Pottorff, Shayna (Bobby) Mulvania, Brandy (Justin) Graham, Dylan (Takaya) Pottorff, Wade, Reed and Ross Scheve, Kylie Pottorff; 13 great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 7, at Roberson Funeral Home, Eagleville, Mo. Inurnment will follow in Lincoln Center Cemetery, Hatfield, Mo. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
