Denver, MO: Norman Keith Snead, 78, Denver, Missouri passed away December 2, 2021 at his home. He was born on December 11, 1942 in Denver, the oldest son of Walter and Bonniejean Smith Snead.
On June 3, 1962 he married the love of his life, Lela May Allen Snead at New Harmony Church. They were married 59 years. To this union three daughters were born, Norma June, Rhonda and Tammy. He was a member of New Harmony Baptist Church where he served as superintendent for thirty years.
Norman started school at Pebble Ridge, a one-room schoolhouse near his home. He then went on to Denver School and graduated from Worth County High School.
As a young adult, he worked as a farm hand. He worked for Missouri highway department for 25 years and then as a custodian at South Harrison High School. He retired in 2004. In 2007, he and Lela moved to the family farm where he was born and raised, fulfilling a lifetime dream. They enjoyed fourteen years there together.
He was never afraid of hard work and was always outside on the farm. He had a special love for his pets, especially his cows. He enjoyed gardening and helping Lela with her flowers, but his first love was his family.
Norman is survived by his wife of nearly sixty years, Lela; daughters, Norma June (Charles) Fleming of Kansas City, Rhonda (Kirk) Palmer of Brookfield, Tammy (David) McCulloch of Amity; four grandchildren, Ryan (Ceaira) Palmer of Brookfield, Lydia Palmer of Brookfield, Adam Palmer of Belton, Ian Fleming, friend Rhianne Beattie of St. Charles; great-Grandson, Maverick Palmer; sister, Mary Glor; brothers, Dwight Snead, Larry Snead, Roger (Pam) Snead; in-laws, Elvis (Nancy) Allen, Lois (Terry) Collins, June (Pat) Abplanalp; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews and many friends.
Preceding him in death are his parents; sister-in-law, Diane Snead and brother-in-law, David Glor.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 6 at Roberson Funeral Home, Bethany, MO. Burial will follow in Miller Cemetery, Denver, MO.
