Bethany, MO: Michael Gene Nible, age 71 years, passed away peacefully on December 5, 2024, at his home north of Bethany surrounded by his family.

Mike was born on April 2, 1953, to Gerald Dean and Dixie (Jennings) Nible. He was the oldest of their six boys.

Mike attended school at South Harrison and graduated in 1971.

On September 27, 1975, he married Roxanne Hagler. To this union, they welcomed their two children: Ashley LeAnne and Justin Cleo.

Mike worked construction as a heavy equipment operator for several years before retiring. He would always tell his kids they needed to find something better to do with their lives, but it was in his blood and he really did enjoy it. Some people say he was the best cable plow operator they ever knew. Through his years in construction, he saw many different parts of the country and met many people, some that became lifelong friends. Terry Stepan and Jim Pasek of Minnesota were just a couple of those and were able to come back and share old stories and visit before Mike passed away.

Mike and Roxanne built their life on their farm where through the years they raised all kinds of livestock. He always enjoyed his animals, especially his cattle, and looked forward to calving each year. He instilled his love for animals in both Ashley and his granddaughter, Kaidence.

Mike enjoyed gardening with Roxanne and always planted a large garden. What they didn’t eat or put away for the winter, they shared with their friends and family. In his free time, Mike also enjoyed fishing. He found joy in the peace he found at the pond.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Gregg; and mother and father-in-law, Elizabeth and Clarence Hagler.

He will be dearly missed by his wife of 49 years, Roxanne; his children, Ashley (Garry) Umphry and Justin Nible (Vanessa Hannah); his grandchildren, Kaidence (Regi Read), Haidyn and Warren Umphry, Hurley and Oakley Hannah; four brothers, Brent (Angie), Doug (Cristi), Gary (Vikki), and Kevin; in-laws, Sue (Rob) Casady, Rolanda (Ron) Ramey, and Rex (Jan) Hagler, along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Mike touched the lives of many and will be remembered fondly.

Mike has been cremated under the direction of Roberson Funeral Home, Bethany, MO and per his request there will be no family visitation or memorial service. He will be laid to rest on his farm. Memorials may be made to Oakland Cemetery and/or Coffey Cemetery in care of Roberson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 46, Bethany, MO 64424. Online condolences may be left at www.robersonfuneralhome.com.
