Bethany, MO: Lila Lea Holcomb, age 92, of Bethany, Mo., passed away peacefully on March 24, 2023. Lila was born in Gilman City, Mo., on June 11, 1930 to her parents, George and Lillie Belle (Long) DeWitt. Lila married Argel Lee Holcomb, the love of her life, on November 9, 1946. Lila and Argel made their home on a farm near Coffey, Missouri where they had three boys they dearly loved – Larry, Gary and David.
Lila was a dedicated member of the Mitchelville Church where she played the organ. She loved the Lord and wanted everyone to have a relationship with Jesus so they, too, could enjoy the rewards she experienced both throughout her life and now, in Heaven.
Lila was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Argel. She is survived by her sister, Janice Wilson of McFall, Mo.; her sons Larry (Theresa) Holcomb of Raymore, Mo., Gary (Betty) Holcomb of Cameron, Mo., and David (Patsy) Holcomb of Coffey, Mo.; her grandchildren Angela (Phillip) Carroll of Branson West, Mo., Quentin Holcomb of Cameron, Mo., Brian Holcomb of Smithville, Mo., Jim (Barb) Holcomb of Pattonsburg, Mo., and Drew (Hollie) Holcomb of Raymore, Mo.; thirteen great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.
Service: 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 31, 2023 at Bethany Memorial Chapel. Burial at Coffey Cemetery. Family visitation Friday 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
