Levida Lee O’Neal, 54 passed away in the presence of her daughters and son in laws at Saint Luke’s Hospital on January 23, 2020.

Levida was born in Raleigh, NC on August 31st, 1965 to Carolyn (Jean) Wiseman and Edmond Alfred Wigal. Levida was the second to youngest of six girls: Laura, Lauraine, Loretta, Laurette, and to the last of this union twins, Levida and Lucille.

Levida lived all over the United States through her childhood due to her father being in the military. Eventually they settled down in Leon, IA in 1978 where she finished out her schooling. She made a lot of near and dear friends as she attended Central Decatur Jr./Sr. High. She became good friends with Jennifer Graham and Annie Wells. Levida ran around with her twin sister Lucille most of the time, metaphorically speaking they were attached at the hip. When Levida got her license, she and Lucille would drive 40 miles south to Bethany, MO to their Roller Rama. At the Roller Rama they met their lifelong friend and adopted sister, Jeana Holloway. Through the years the three of them would run the streets of Leon and Bethany causing havoc all over the place.

In 1993 Levida met her husband of 15 years, Brian O’Neal. Levida and Brian through the length of 5 years had three beautiful daughters: Brianna, Caitlynn, and Abby. Levida and Brian raised their daughters to be strong, genuine, and compassionate as their mother was. Through the later years of Levida’s life she was blessed with 6 adorable grandchildren: Asher, Anson, Paxton, Emery, Nevaeh and one little blessing expected to be here on her birthday.

Levida was employed at Harrison County Courthouse where she worked in the assessor’s office. Levida brought smiles to everyone’s faces as she waited on them. Levida was one of the most warm-hearted, caring, beautiful people you could have ever met in your life. She would give the shirt off her back to help someone in need. Levida warmed a lot of hearts of the people she met and even people who were strangers. Levida was a firm believer that on her last day she would be reunited at the golden gates by her lord and savior Jesus Christ, and her mother and sisters.

Levida is preceded in death by her mother, Carolyn (Jean) Wigal and sisters, Laura Johnston and Lauraine Kuster.

Levida leaves behind father Ed (Gina) Wigal; daughters, Brianna (Skyler) O’Neal, Caitlynn (Dakota) O’Neal, and Abby (Billy) O’Neal; grandchildren, Asher, Anson, Paxton, Emery, Nevaeh and a little blessing; sisters, Lucille Wigal of Bethany, MO, Laurette Wigal of Bethany, MO, Loretta (Kevin) Walters of Bemidji, MN; 11 nieces and nephews and 23 great nieces and nephews.

Levida may have lived a short life but she lived one with meaning and purpose. She is walking the golden streets of Heaven, watching her daughters and grandchildren live and breathe her legacy.

Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, February 1 at Roberson Funeral Home, Bethany, MO. Burial will follow in Leon Cemetery, Leon, Iowa. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Levida O’Neal Memorial Fund in care of Roberson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 46, Bethany, MO 64424. Online condolences may be left at www.robersonfuneralhome.com.
