St. Joseph, MO: Kevin Deardorff, 60, of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2024.
He was born January 3, 1964 in Mount Ayr, Iowa to Phillip and Leslie (Ayres) Deardorff.
Kevin worked two jobs raising three children and did a great job. He was the best grandpa to his grandchildren, whom he adored and loved to spend time with.
He also was a youth sports coach for his kids and others in the community.
Kevin’s door was always open to all. A forgiving man, he saw the good and potential in everyone. He always said, “It’s OK to ‘mess’ up in life as long as you don’t do it twice.”
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Sharon Deardorff (Terry Constant); and niece, Makenzie Deardorff.
Survivors include his children, Lesley Mace, Christopher Deardorff (Amanda), and Timothy Deardorff; goddaughters, Dena Wiley, Cassi Nible, Emma Willis, and Courtney Marsh; grandchildren, Karyssa and Lexi Mace, Abigail, Caitlyn, and Ava Deardorff; step-grandchildren, Austin, Tessa, Cheyenne, Trevor, and Bryan Mace; siblings, Tom Deardorff (Stormy) and Stacey Deardorff; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and his beloved dog, Thor. Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 25, at Roberson Funeral Home, Bethany, MO. Scattering of cremains will follow the service.
