Kenneth Dale Nible was born January 13, 1946 in Des Moines, Iowa to Dean and Juanita (Bain) Nible. He was named after his Uncle Kenneth Bain who was killed in St. Valery, France during World War II. Kenny passed away March 12, 2019 at the age of 73.
Kenny attended and graduated from Ridgeway High School in 1964. After graduating, he moved to Kansas City and worked at Western Electric.
On December 29, 1968, Kenny was united in marriage to Carolyn Taraba. This past year, they celebrated 50 years of marriage.
Kenny was a farmer. He and Carolyn, along with Danny and Phyllis Claycomb owned and operated the Coop Station in Ridgeway for several years. In April of 1988, he began working at the Crossroads Correctional Center in Cameron until he suffered a stroke on October 18, 1997, retiring as Captain.
Kenny was a member of the Ridgeway United Methodist Church, American Legion Post #216, Bethany, Northwest Missouri Muzzle Loading Association, served on the Grant Township Board, Ridgeway Housing Board, president of the Harrison County Baseball League in the 1980’s, Ridgeway Boy Scout Leader and coach for the Ridgeway Summer League Baseball.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn of the home; son, Clint (Marika) Nible; grandchildren, Alexis (Andrew) Allen, Emily and Aaron Nible all of Bethany; brother, Duane (Sue) Nible, Tonganoxie, KS; sister, Linda (Alan) VanHoozer, Padre Island, TX; nephews, Larry & Ricky Thompson, Tommy Nible, Gerald Nible, Jason VanHoozer, T.J. and Jason Bernard, niece, Sandy Kutzner; sister-in-law, Jerriann Bernard; brother-in-laws, Richard (Dick) Thompson, John Taraba.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, George and Clara Nible, grandmother, Pearl (Granny) Bain, parents, brothers, Bob & Dave, sister, Dorothy Thompson, sister-in-law, Elaine Nible, Nible uncles and aunts, Lee Nible, Floyd Nible, Charley Nible, Bill Nible, May Polley, Gladys Hammack, Leona Williams, Mary Provin, father and mother-in-law, Gilbert and Maxine Taraba.
Funeral Service: 2:00 PM Sunday, March 17 at the United Methodist Church in Ridgeway with burial in the Kirkley Chapel Cemetery, northeast of Bethany. The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 PM Saturday evening at the church, where friends may call anytime after 4:00 PM on Saturday.
