Bethany, MO: Johnny C. Taylor, 84, Bethany, MO was called to Heaven on Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at Harrison County Community Hospital with friends and family by his side.
He was born March 11, 1935, the son of Simpson “Orville” and Esta Mae (Wilkinson) Taylor.
On September 12, 1976, he married the love of his life, Mary Virginia Dunn. She preceded him in death on January 9, 2019.
Johnny was a member of the Oakland Christian Church for many years. After moving to Bethany, he became a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church. He was a very religious man and loved to spread the word of God. He worked as a lock smith for several years before traveling with his wife. Johnny loved to recycle and repurposed items he found and worried about the environment.
He is survived by two brothers, Robert Taylor, California and James Taylor, Massachusetts; eight grandchildren, Kristi (Billy) Bennett, Bethany, Cari Ellen Stratton, Higginsville, Lisa Stratton (Joe) Gruenioh, St. Louis, Brandy Stratton Oneal (Scott Polley) Bethany, Randee Stratton (Bryan McDaniel) Bethany, Roger Fulton, Georgia, Micheal Fulton, St., Georgia, Frank Wright Ridgeway; great grandchildren, Rowdy Kampman, Bethany, Asiah Bennett (Xavier Moore) St. Joseph, Chase Bennett, St. Joseph, Jessica (Carmiel) Padgett, St. Joseph, Taylor Oneal, Bethany, Tyler Oneal, Bethany, Micheal Fulton, Jr., Georgia; great-great grandchildren, Slade Moore, St. Joseph, Cameron Pittsenbarger, Annika Padgett, Madalyn Padgett, Emma Padgett, Alexander Padgett all of St. Joseph, Roman Smith, Avery Hackly, Cordell Hackley all of Higginsville, Trace Wright, Katelynn Wright, Frankie Wright, Zane Wright all of Louisiana, and special church friends, Gary and Suzanne Hatten of Bethany.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 23 at Roberson Funeral Home, Bethany, MO. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery, Ridgeway, MO.
