John Warren Stoklasa, 59, Pleasant Hill, MO, passed away unexpectedly, Sunday, November 18, 2018 at his home. No services are scheduled at this time; however a Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association as John was a longtime supporter of both.
John was born October 1, 1959 in Bethany, MO, the son of Leo John and Ethel Ruth (DeLong) Stoklasa. He grew up in the Cainsville, Missouri area and was a 1977 Cainsville graduate.
John worked as a construction superintendent for Rothwell Construction in Blue Springs, MO, and he had a lifetime of construction knowledge, experience and expertise. In the past thirty- four years, John worked not only as job superintendent over hundreds of job sites, but he also estimated projects for bid and was a self-employed contractor. He was known for his hard driven work ethic, and he loved nothing more than to bring a job in, not only on time, but early, if possible. He earned much respect in the industry and made many lifelong friends.
John remained a country boy at heart even though he left his Northern Missouri home. He loved to hunt and fish, and he always planted a garden every year that was really bigger than it needed to be. He always looked forward to his spring morel mushroom hunting every year, faithfully checking his secret spots for a successful harvest. He tried to make it back to Northern Missouri whenever he could to see those that were dear to him and share adventures, stories, and reminisce.
John is survived by his wife, Gayle Stoklasa, Pleasant Hill, MO; one son, Thaddeus “Thad” Stoklasa (Kara Brown), Bloomington, IL; one daughter, Elizabeth “Beth” Brown (Scott), Raymore, MO; one sister, Betty Erickson (Mike), St. George, UT; one grandchild, Landon Johnathan Brown, and his dearest friends who were family to him.
