Cainsville, MO: Jerry Lee Stallsworth, Bethany, former lifelong Cainsville resident, departed this earthly life Wednesday, June 28, 2023. He was born in Cainsville Mo., on June 27, 1943 to the late Walter Lee and Vivian Irene (Tiny Zimmerman) Stallsworth. He was 80 years and 1 day at his passing.
On November 9, 1969, he married the late Alice McKinney and to this union two daughters were born, Wendy Morales and Amy Stallsworth. He wanted boys but he didnât need them as Amy was the fisherman and Wendy loved to go coon and turkey hunting with him.
Jerry and Alice raised sheep and he sheared them traveling all over southern Iowa and northern Mo., as he was the only sheep shearer in this area. He also bought the wool. For many years he, Alice, and his parents had a hay hauling business. Jerry was an avid hunter, trapper, and fisherman. He and Walt used to love to fish in the pouring down rain. They would say, âIf the rain is pouring and the lakes, rivers are running, the fish will be biting!â There were many fish fries from those times. He bought furs from other hunters and trappers in the area for a time as well. Jerry loved to water race and tree coons with his many coon dogs that resided in the backyard. This hobby took his family all over southern Iowa and northern Mo. He held many trophies from his winnings. He got to attend one last event that his cousin Tracy McLain held this year and he loved it!
He is preceded in death by his wife, parents, grandparents, three brothers-in-laws, and two sister-in-laws. He is survived by daughters, Wendy Morales and Amy Stallsworth of Bethany, granddaughter, Alyson Morales and fiancĂ©, Garret Shipley, great granddaughter, Delilah Alice Rose Shipley, Bethany, sister-in-law, Margaret Kaneer, Aunt Shirley Estes, numerous cousins, nieceâs, nephews, great-nephewâs and nieces, and the many friends he knew.
