Our beloved Jack Trent Rickey, Sr. passed away on Tuesday, March 23, 2021. We was and will always be, a loved and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett Warren Rickey and Bonajean Virginia (Shank) Rickey, his brothers Edgar Thomas Rickey, and James Leroy Rickey, and sisters, Chearean Faye (Rickey) Greene, and Leanna (Rickey) Turco.
Jack loved the Lord and loved to serve. One of his greatest loves was missionary work and sharing with all he could, his testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for many, many years. He enjoyed family history and genealogy work as well as serving in the temple for the church. He enjoyed the love and kindness of his many Amish friends and was honored to have spent much of his final years with them.
Jack moved to Missouri from San Diego with his wife and sweetheart of 51 years, in 2005 after he retired as a foreman and electrician for Simplex Grinnell for almost 20 years. He met his wife Kathleen Anne Rickey in Anchorage, Alaska and they married May 23, 1970. They have two sons – Jack Trent Rickey, Jr. and Daniel Thomas Rickey, Sr. (Roxann Lynn (Nelson) Rickey), Jack is also survived by five grandchildren – Jack Trent Rickey, III, Britany Ivern (Rickey) Tyra , Andrew Wells Rickey (Kaylee (Ward) Rickey), Lucas Alan Rickey, and Daniel Thomas Rickey, Jr. as well as 7 great-grandchildren – Riley Tyra, Gabriella Tyra, Tatianna Tyra, Nikolas Jr. Tyra, Elena Tyra, Anna Tyra, and soon to join us any day, Jackson. He is also survived by his beloved brothers Thomas Everett Rickey, and Stephen Merrell Rickey, and sisters Geanean Kay (Rickey) Rose, Elaine Arvis (Rickey) Mahron, and Elizabeth Ann (Rickey) Barone.
We are comforted in his passing by knowing he loves the Lord and is serving Him in the heavens on high. We are grateful that he has instilled in us his testimony of God our Father, His son Jesus Chirst, and our Comforter and Companion the Holy Ghost. Last of all, we wanted to share this testimony that Jesus Christ lives. He died and atoned for each of our sins so that we may to return home to live with our Heavenly Father and our loved ones for all eternity. Thank you all for being a part of Jack’s life. Funeral services will be Friday, April 2, 2021 at 11am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Albany, with interment to be in the Henton Cemetery.
