Gerald W. York, 84, Cameron, Mo., passed away on February 20, 2017.
He was born March 17, 1932, the son of Lloyd and Ruby (Stevens) York.
He attended school in Eagleville, Mo.
He served in the Air Force from 1952-1956. During this time he obtained rank of Staff Sergeant. He was also a member of the Strategic Air Command. After leaving the Air Force he worked various jobs in Kansas City, Mo.
He began farming in 1959 in Jameson, Mo., where he raised his family. During this time he developed a passion for restoring old cars which he continued after retiring from farming and moving to Cameron.
On July 26, 1993, he married Dee Harrison. She survives of the home.
He was preceded in death by his parents and infant sister.
Survivors in addition to his wife are-Melissa (Jesse) West, Girard, Ks., Susan (Jeff) Ramey, Ridgeway, Mo., Brenda (Greg) Merrigan, Indianola, Ia., Roger York, Bethany, Mo., Diane (Troy) Sheets, Amazonia, Mo., Jackie Harrison, Liberty, Mo., and Kim (Todd) Offenbacker, Kearney, Mo.; 20 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Allen Cemetery or to Three Rivers Hospice in care of Brown Funeral Home, Cameron, Mo.
A private graveside service will be held at a later time.
