George William “Butch” Giles, 1960-2018
CLARKSDALE, MO: George William “Butch” Giles, 57, Clarksdale, Mo., (formerly of Mt. Moriah, Mo.) passed away Saturday, April 7, 2018 at a St. Joseph, MO hospital.
He was born July 19, 1960 in Bethany, Mo., the son of Joseph William and Lois Lavon (Preston) Giles.
On July 20, 1996 he married Onie Clements in Clarksdale, Mo. She survives of the home.
George was a graduate from Pattonsburg R-2 High School in 1978. He served in the United States Army and worked as a mechanic in his own shop, Gump’s Garage, in Clarksdale, Mo. He enjoyed fishing and bird hunting in his earlier years.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Leslie Giles.
George is also survived by his children, Andy Giles (and the late Chrissy Eller), Bethany, Mo., Eric (Samantha) Giles, Pattonsburg, Mo., Michael (Lydia) Clements, Lathrop, Mo., Joseph (Tiffany) Giles, Clarksdale, Mo., Latisha (Chris) McKenzie, Independence, Mo., Mindee Jo, St. Joseph, Mo.; siblings, Carol (Larry) Brickey, Mound City, Mo., Betty (Chuck) Lieffring, Faucett, Mo., Marvin “Sweet Corn” Giles, Mt. Moriah, Mo., Jim Giles, Dyersburg, Tenn., Joan Clayton, St. Joseph, Mo., June Buntin, Clarksdale, Mo., Sue (Steve) Miller, Columbia, Mo.; 15 grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 11, at Roberson Funeral Home, Bethany, Mo. Burial with military rites will follow in Lloyd Cemetery, Mt. Moriah, Mo.
