Emporia, KS: Gail Marie Hunsucker of Emporia, Kansas, died October 8, 2023, at Presbyterian Manor. She was 74 years old.
Gail was born on April 25, 1949, in Grand Rapids, Minnesota, the daughter of Raymond and Charlotte (Palmer) Betz, the oldest of seven children. She married James Robert Hunsucker Jr. on December 2, 1972, in Rosemont, Minnesota. He passed in 2018.
Gail loved her family and loved cooking food. If you were a guest in her kitchen, she tried to make your favorite meal. There was always coffee brewing and food ready for guests, even if she wasn’t home.
Gail retired in 2018 as a 911 dispatcher from Harrison County, Missouri after 17 years of service.
Surviving family members include daughter Becky (David) Morton of Emporia, KS; son James (Molly) Hunsucker of Bethany, MO; sisters Diane Betz of Isanti, MN; Bobbi (Roy) Hain of Isanti, MN; JoAnn (Russel) Nielsen of Isanti, MN; brother Tom (Jackie) Betz of Grand Rapids, MN; and grandchildren Matthew Dowling, Elijah Dowling, Levi Morton, Jack Hunsucker, Jonathan Morton, Journey Hunsucker and Ethan Morton.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents John and Mildred Betz, Leslie and Luella Palmer, parents, brother James Betz and sister Lynn Roerick.
Cremation is planned with a Celebration of Life at Victory Baptist Church, 204 S. 13th St., Albany, Missouri, 64402, on October 21st, 2023 at 1 P.M.
