Mount Moriah, MO: Francis Junior Shepard, son of Lewis Francis and Dorothy Helen (Bears) Shepard, was born June 22, 1929 in Mount Moriah, Mo. He passed away May 22, 2023 at Liberty Hospital at the age of 93.
Junior was the oldest of nine children and was raised on a farm in Mount Moriah in Missouri. He went to school through the 8th Grade and then worked odd jobs until he went into the U.S. Army in 1948. He started working at General Motors and moved to Kansas City, Kansas, after he was discharged from the Air Force. His second job was repairing appliances.
