Everett Keith McCampbell, 92, was born October 12, 1927 on the family Century Farm in rural New Hampton, Missouri, where he was raised, lived, and passed away peacefully June 19, 2020.
Everett graduated from New Hampton High School, class of 1945. Shortly after graduating, Everett and his friend Alvin Hillman spent time in Aurora, Colorado with his uncle Tom Carter before enlisting in the Navy.
On January 20, 1947, he was united in marriage to Evelyn Steinman. They were blessed to celebrate their 73rd wedding anniversary.
Everett spent 33 years with the highway department as a field mechanic. He was a lifelong farmer, enjoyed carpentry, that included building his own home.
His favorite times were spent watching game shows, westerns and reading Louis L`Amour books.
Everett was a member of the Willow Row United Methodist Church, where he served as superintendent, music director and Sunday school teacher. He was a past master of the New Hampton Masonic Lodge #510 A.F. & A.M.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ira Odus and Gertie (Carter) McCampbell, infant sister, Elsie McCampbell, sisters and their husbands, Rosalie Steinman, Lucy Baker and Vernadene Steinman, brother, Louis McCampbell, granddaughter, Alyssa McCampbell and his lifelong friend, Reverend Alvin Hillman.
Survivors include: his wife, Evelyn McCampbell of the home; sons, Harold Keith (Deborah) McCampbell, rural New Hampton; Rick (Pamela) McCampbell, Creston, IA; daughter, Tenya McCampbell, St. Charles, MO; grandchildren, Kevin K. McCampbell, Amy K. (Hector) Fernandez, Jeffrey P. (Elizabeth) McCampbell; Dr. Kathryn McCampbell, Colin (Tiffany) McCampbell, Brittany (Chris) White, Brandi (Ben) Farris, Riley McCampbell; great-grandchildren, Alexander, Ronin and Isabella Fernandez; Peter, Marin and Adam McCampbell; Kemper and Crosby McCampbell; Conner and Clara Farris; Sean McCampbell; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral Service: 2:00 PM Tuesday, June 23 at the Roberson-Polley Chapel, Albany with burial in the Grandview Cemetery, Albany. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the chapel, where friends may call anytime after 10:00 AM Tuesday morning.
