Springfield, MO: Edwin Leroy Rucker, 91, of Springfield, MO, passed away on Thursday, April 3, 2025.
He was born on August 2, 1933, in Eagleville, Missouri, to John and Carrie (Booher) Rucker. On September 7, 1952, he married Crystal Joy (Webber) Rucker in Martinsville, Missouri. She preceded him in death.
In addition to his wife, Edwin was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Brenda Maupin of Yukon, OK.
Edwin served in the United States Army from July 1953 to May 1955 during the Korean War. He worked for Allis Chalmers as a Lead Welder in Independence, Missouri and retired in 1985. After retirement, Edwin and Crystal traveled to Arizona in their 5th wheel for the winter and returned to their home in Independence, MO in the spring to early fall each year before settling in Springfield, MO in 2005.
Edwin is survived by his daughter, Katherine Johnson of Cameron, MO, and sons, Marvin Rucker of Independence, MO, Erwin Dean Rucker of Buckner, MO, Daryl Wayne Rucker of Loveland, CO, and Paul Rucker of Springfield, MO. He also leaves behind 18 grandchildren, 57 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside Services and Burial with Military Rites will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, April 7, in Morris Chapel Cemetery in Bethany, MO, under the direction of Roberson Funeral Home, Bethany, MO.
