Bethany, MO: Linda Lee Duff, age 81, formerly of Leon, Iowa, died Thursday, August 30, 2018, at a Bethany, Missouri nursing home. She was born April 20, 1937, to Raymond Urban and Emma Jane (Gibson) Wyant at Carlisle, Iowa.
In August of 1956, she was married to Ernest Rex Ellis and blessed with two daughters, Brenda and Sherry. They later divorced and she married Robert Duff.
Over the years Linda worked on the farm, Crestview Nursing Home in Bethany, and the Dinner Bell Restaurant in Eagleville. She traveled to many states when her husband worked on the telephone crew. She loved being outside tending her flowers and garden, and square dancing.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Duff; siblings and spouses, Stan and Norma Wyant, Ike and Carol Wyant, Leota and Dean Baber, Marian and Lavern Brenizer, and Bonnie Faye in childhood; brother-in-law, Dean McCullough. Survivors include her daughters, Brenda and Steve Spiers of Pattonsburg, Missouri and Sherry and Bobby Hart of McFall, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Mechelle Hill, Kayla Fortner, Corby Mills, Jason Lawson, Brandon Anderson, Casey Anderson, and Jeremy Humphrey; 14 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at the Slade – O’Donnell Funeral Home in Leon, Iowa at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 4, 2018, with Pastor Ron Helton officiating, with visitation 9-10:30 prior. Burial was in the Davis City Cemetery, Davis City, Iowa.
