Welch, OK: Doyle Edward Templeton, 74, Welch, OK went to heaven on Saturday, December 5, 2020 while in the hospital in Kansas City, MO.
He was born on February 3, 1946 in Warsaw, Missouri the son of Clarence Ollen and Ella Morene (Reno) Templeton. They preceded him in death.
Doyle was drafted into the US Army November 30, 1965 where he served in the Vietnam War for two years, coming home with a Purple Heart. Upon coming home, he was employed with the Missouri-Kansas-Texas Railroad which was later purchased by the Union Pacific Railroad where he worked at a Manager of Train Operations for 40 years until he retired November 4, 2004.
He loved his family; he especially loved his role as “Papa”! He loved to cook, planting his tomatoes and the occasional step into the casino. He will be dearly missed!
Also preceding him in death are brothers James M (Shirley of the home), Clarance E (Rhonda, still of the home), Duane E (Patricia, still of the home), Ollen Keith & LeeRoy.
He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Catherine A Templeton of the home. He has three sisters, Carolyn J & husband Floyd Marsh, Betty R & husband Skip Ward, & Lois M & Wayne Kirchhoff.
Doyle has three sons, Bryan and wife Shannon, Tony and wife Stacey, and Douglas. He also has two bonus children, Rick Kuhn and Heather Huffman.
Doyle has numerous grandchildren that lovingly call him “Papa”: Aubrey & Connor Huffman, Amanda, Doyle A, and Tanner Templeton, Eli Kuhn, Reagen and Maci Kuhn, Michael, Bailie, Brooke, & Hannah Templeton and one great grandson, Mason. Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 11 at Roberson Funeral Home, Bethany, MO. Inurnment will be held at a later date. There is no scheduled family visitation.
