Deanna (Dee) Faye (Bruner) Youngman, 77, Columbia, MO, passed away at Lenoir Woods, Lutheran Senior Services, Columbia, MO on Wednesday, July 5, 2017.

Visitation of Dee’s life will be held from 9:30 AM -11:00 AM on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at Olivet Christian Church, 1991 S Olivet Rd, Columbia, MO. Memorial services will follow at 11:00 AM at the church. Her ashes will be delivered later by family to the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery, Jacksonville, MO.

Dee was born on January 24, 1940 in Cuba, MO the daughter of George and Leota (Alcorn) Bruner who preceded her in death. She met her husband Thornton (Luke) Youngman when they were attending college at Northeast Missouri State in Kirksville, MO. They married on January 1, 1961 in Cuba, MO by her father, Rev. George Bruner who conducted the wedding ceremony.

Dee was an action oriented Christian. Some of her caring activities included: providing foster baby care, working with Habitat for Humanity when the organization first arrived in Columbia and serving as Chair of the Family Selection Committee. She volunteered to help with many caring activities for Olivet Christian Church. Dee also prepared newsletters for Olivet and Habitat families. She was blessed with a great ear for music and sang in many church choirs. Dee also loved to read books and paint pictures. She loved her family and was thrilled to greet each new grand and great grandchild when they arrived.

Dee is survived by her husband, Thornton (Luke) Youngman, LtCol USMC (Ret); two daughters, Andrea Youngman (Scottie Stigall) and Regan Youngman (Barry Godsey); two sons, Robert Youngman (Tracy) and Mike Youngman; one brother, Ron Bruner; nine grandchildren, Jennifer Tucker, Kristina Tucker, John Tucker, Jessie Heiss (Kendra), Amber Atwood, Sophia Youngman, Caleb Youngman, April Moreland (David) and Brandi Stigall; 12 great grandchildren, Camden Heiss, Gage Heiss, Michael Atwood III, Isabella Atwood, Micah Atwood, Tresa Atwood, Raven Atwood, Michael Burgeson Jr, Kalia Carter, DeVonte Carter, Daneco Davis and Jeniah Tucker. Dee was also preceded in death by her daughter, Denise Tucker; two sisters, Delores Sego and Loeta Crews and three brothers, William, Jack and John Bruner.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are recommended to Olivet Christian Church or the organization of your choice.

Dee had to deal with Alzheimer’s disease the last years of her life. A big thank you to Lenoir Woods for the great care Dee received from September 30, 2013 to July 5, 2017.
