Dale was born on February 11, 1943 in Truo, Iowa and passed away from this life on March 19, 2020 at his home in Eagleville, Mo.
He was the son of Leland F. and Dorothy (Vasey) White. He was 77 years, one month and seven days old.
Dale was a man of many talents. He used those talents and abilities as he worked at many different jobs during his lifetime. He was a musician. He played guitar and sang. He had a chance as a young man to sing on “The Grand Ole Opry” but his parents said NO. He formed a band at one time and they performed at many different social gatherings, playing Country Western music. He even had his own radio show at one time. He was known to take a whirl on the dance floor.
He was a carpenter/contractor. Built more than one home for himself and had many projects done.
He drove a truck over the road in 48 states. He owned a junkyard west of Eagleville.
He owned restaurants where he cooked and entertained customers. He owned restaurants in Clio, Iowa; one at Hwy 2 and Hwy 65 junction south of Humeston, Iowa, two in Harris, Mo.; one in Princeton, Mo., two in Cainsville, Mo.
As his health began to deteriorate, he decided to build Neat’s cook shacks. One in Eagleville and one in Mt. Moriah. His health didn’t allow him to actually work this, but Dale loved to cook. He owned property at Lake of the Ozarks, and while he lived there he cooked at Pa Pa Rays. The last four years, he cooked up a Thanksgiving feast and invited everyone he knew that had nowhere to go for this special holiday. His house was small but his heart was “Big.” Sometimes they served as many as 60 meals. He never knew a stranger. He didn’t mind helping people who were down on their luck. He loved children and would reach in his pocket and pull out a $ just to see them smile.
Dale bought an old school bus and went to auctions and bought fresh produce and then distributed it through Iowa and Missouri most recently but also through Washington and Oregon at one time.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents, Leland and Dorothy White; brother Wayne white; cousin Roger Vasey. Denise’s father Willie Tull and two brothers, Randy and Larry. Dale will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
