Cora M. Coy Toland Thompson was born April 28, 1913 the daughter of Jim and Mary Coy near Imogene, Iowa. She passed away Saturday, September 5, 2015 at the Bethany Care Center.

She graduated from Randolph High School, Randolph, IA.

In 1935 she married Elliott Toland. Elliot and Cora were married 53 years and had one daughter, Mary E. Toland McAtee. Elliott preceded her in death.

In 1990 she married Richard Thompson. Richard also preceded Cora in death.

In 2003 Cora moved to Gilman City, MO wither her daughter Mary and son-in-law Ken McAtee. She has lived in Missouri and also in New Carlisle, Indiana where she had lived for 53 years.

Cora was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Bethany, MO, American Legion, Auxiliary Post #297 New Carlisle, IN, and VFW Post #9423 Rolling Prairie, IN.

Cora was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Fernando and Eugene; sister-in-law, Clara; niece, Donna Coy Ridnour, and step-grandson, Kevin Murphy.

She is survived by daughter, Mary (Ken) McAtee; granddaughter, Debbie McAtee (James) Jurkouski; great-grandchildren, Broc, Lexie, Cole and Tori; step-daughter, Jo Ann (Neil) Murphy; one step-grandson; three step-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Cora has been cremated under the direction of Roberson Funeral Home, Bethany, MO.

Memorial Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 17 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Bethany, MO. Inurnment will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Harrison County Hospice, 1700 Bethany Ave., Bethany, MO 64424 and/or SonRise Children’s Home of Princeton, MO PO Box 181, Princeton, MO 64673.
