Gilman City, MO: Colleen Crabtree Pickren, 81, Gilman City, MO (formerly of Bethany, MO) passed away Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at a Bethany, MO hospital.
She was born on November 19, 1936 in Mt. Moriah, Missouri the daughter of R.C. “Buck” and Ruby E. (Johnson) Weddle.
On July 18, 1953 she married Thomas W. “Tommy” Crabtree in Grant City, MO. He preceded her in death on December 26, 2001. On December 27, 2008 she married Richard Pickren. He survives of the home.
Colleen was an avid bowler and was secretary of many leagues, organized many tournaments, held state bowling championship titles and also coached junior bowling leagues. She was also a Harrison County Girls’ Softball co-organizer. She was an accomplished baton twirler and taught several others the art. She was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary #2534 and Harrison County Business and Professional Women and clerked and cashiered at many of her parent’s auctions. Colleen was a genealogist for the family and enjoyed attending family reunions. She loved dancing, especially the Waltz and Jitterbug.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; son, Larry Dale Crabtree; daughters, Cindy Crabtree and Nancy Kreimeier and brothers, Dean and Donald Weddle.
Colleen is also survived by her sons, Dick (Sue) Crabtree, Danny Crabtree both of Bethany, MO, Donny (Amie) Crabtree, Piedras Negras, Mexico, Rick (Honey) Pickren, Ozark, MO, Jack Pickren (Brande), Bethany, MO; daughters, Patsy (Terry) Polley, Bethany, MO, Amy Pickren, Lawson, MO; grandchildren, Amber, Tanya, Erin Gayleen, Mallory, Marissa, Adriana, Cindy, Tommy, David, Michelle, Joe, Kylan, Jentzen, Tyler, Sarah, Kalee, Tannar, Ali, and Hanna; great grandchildren, Jacob, Ally, Benton, Nicholas, Landen, Carter, Chancel, Naomie, Brendan, Victoria, Ashlyn, Madison, Parker, Greyson, Khayle, Nick, Katie Grace, Westley, Jackson; brother, Kenny Johnson, Bethany, MO; sisters-in-law, Carolyn Sue (Bo) Hall, Pensacola, FL, Mitzi (Dick) Maddux, Milton, FL; best friend, Alice Jean Barnhouse and wife-in-law, Dottie Pickren Scott and a host of friends and relatives.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 11 at Roberson Funeral Home, Bethany, MO. Burial will follow in Miriam Cemetery, Bethany, MO. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home and asks all to wear red in her honor.
