Charlotte “Sue” Blessing, 85, a lifelong resident of New Hampton, Mo., peacefully passed away Tuesday, November 28, 2023, in her home. She was born October 12, 1938, in Bethany, the daughter of D.E. and Eleanor (Stevens) Barnett.

Sue married Harold Rex (Red) Blessing on December 11, 1957. To this union, four children were born, Tammy, Marianne, Peggy, and Danny. She was dedicated to her family. 

She helped Red run his plumbing business. As the children got older, she ventured out and tried her hand at working. First at Rival Manufacturing, then found her place while working at the Northwest Missouri Area on Aging office. She always had time for family. She would spend most weekends keeping company with her grandchildren fishing, or just hanging out. Her family always looked forward to her Sunday dinners. 

Sue was preceded in death by her husband, Red; her parents; stepfather, Earl Rawlings; three brothers Darrell, Gary and Charles; Grandson, Brian Pigg; honorary grandson, Clint Starmer.

She was survived by her children, Tammy (Rick) Miller, Worth, Mo., Marianne (Robert) Sutton, Albany, Mo., Peggy (Allen) Pigg, Worth, Mo., and Danny (Maurita) Blessing, Pensacola, Fla.; grandchildren, Eric (Kelley) Miller, Jeremy Sutton, Ashton Miller (Samantha), Randy Pigg, Amanda (Brian) Shannon, Josh (Christy) Sutton, Christopher (Beth) Blessing, Nicholas (Andrea) Blessing, Zachary Blessing, Charlotte (Chad Ratliffe) Blessing; honorary grandchildren, Tyler Starmer (Kyla), Jacob Starmer (Krissi), Debbie Starmer (Steve), New Hampton, Mo.; and Emily Starmer (Ethan); 17 great grandchildren; sister, Peggy Harris; sister-in-law, Linda Barnett; lots of nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her special cat “Baby”.

Sue’s Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December 2nd, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the New Hampton Volunteer Firehouse. Memorial contributions may be made to the New Hampton Volunteer Fire Department and/or the Foster Cemetery in care of Roberson-Polley Chapel, 403 N. Hundley, Albany, Mo. 64402.
