Bethany, MO: Charles LuVerne Crabtree, 81, Bethany, MO passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2024, at a St. Joseph, MO hospital.
He was born on March 11, 1942, to James W. and Helen M. Crabtree in Harrison County, MO.
Charles was a graduate of South Harrison High School. After graduation, Charles worked as a loan officer for the former First National Bank of Missouri. He was also involved in many farming activities over the years, and he sold real estate. He was a member of Bethany Kiwannis Club for 57 years, Bethany Lodge 97 for 53 years, St. Joseph Scottish Rite for 50 years, Bethany Order OES-H23 for 53 years and Moila Temple Shrine for 50 years. He served many years as president of the Northwest Missouri State Fair Board where he was currently serving as secretary, Bethany City Council, and was a member of the First Christian Church currently serving as an elder. He enjoyed camping, being involved in community activities, and going dancing.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jimmy; twin sisters, Collene and Ilene, and first wife, Shirley in 2011.
Charles is survived by a special friend, Joy Michael and a host of other friends. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 9 at Roberson Funeral Home, Bethany, MO. Burial will follow in Foster Cemetery, New Hampton, MO. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
