BETHANY, MO: Cathy Ann Stanton Long, 63, Bethany, MO passed away Sunday, April 1, 2018 at a Bethany, MO hospital.
She was born September 11, 1954 in California the daughter of Marvin and Myra Adell (Strickland) Stanton. At the age of 9, she moved with her parents to Okinawa, Japan where she went to high school and received her high school diploma. Cathy continued her education at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis where she became a registered nurse, earning her Master’s Degree in the health field. She decided to switch careers after moving to Bethany and received her LCSW Degree at the University of Kansas. She worked as a social worker and Counselor, opening her own business, Solutions for Families, where she worked doing what she loved, helping people until declining health forced her to file for social security disability.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her 17 year old son, Tanner, whom she never stopped grieving for.
Cathy is survived by her husband, Doug Long, of the home; son, Ryan (friend, Tiana) Stanton, Vernal, UT; daughter, Cally Stanton, Bethany, MO; granddaughter, Caiden; and grandsons, Jaxson, James, and Liam.
Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, April 7 at Roberson Funeral Home, Bethany, MO. Burial will follow in Miriam Cemetery, Bethany, MO.
