Bethany, MO: Caleb T. Linthacum, 18, passed away September 21, 2023 at his home.
Caleb was born October 22, 2004, in St. Joseph, Missouri to Greg Linthacum and JoeAnn Atchley. He graduated from Ridgeway R-5 School in 2023. After graduation he attended Grand River Technical School in Chillicothe, MO for diesel mechanics.
Young Caleb about the age of 3 began his journey down the road for his love of all things motorized with wheels. You could catch Caleb racing his four-wheeler or catching some air on his dirt bike alongside his older brother, Adam. A country boy through and through Caleb thrived in the dirt and grease environment because it meant he was getting to tinker on something. Caleb’s parents were blessed to be on the receiving end of his talent to fix things. Whether that be in the home or on the farm, he could always be depended on. He enjoyed all things outdoors in the fresh air and sunshine. Whether it be hunting, camping, canoeing, or mudding in his truck. Caleb loved his siblings unconditionally. He was their best friend, biggest fan, and unwavering supporter. Caleb exceeded his role as an uncle in such a way that he made his nieces and nephews feel like he was really their older brother. Whether it was to protect, teach, help, or play they knew he would be in their corner. That is what Caleb was. He was always in everyone’s corner, ready to help without a moment’s hesitation. In truth, at times he was already helping you before you knew you needed it. He communicated through jokes and making light of any situation. If you were on the receiving end of one of his jabs, you knew you were loved. He felt for and loved his family and friends fiercely. Caleb in every right, wore his heart on his sleeve and was always willing to share some of it. He had a lot of love to give. His wide toothy grin and big hands on your shoulders will forever be immensely missed by all those who were lucky enough to have known him.
Caleb was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Jim and Mary Ellen Linthacum; cousin Jordin Jennings.
He is survived by his parents, Greg and JoeAnn; siblings, Jessie (Adam) Burrows, Dena Wiley, Cassi Nible, and Adam Linthacum all of Bethany, MO; grandparents, Larry and Hannah Slayden, Stanberry, MO; nieces and nephews, Paighton York, Karli McQuinn, Jaxon McQuinn, Camden Henry, Dixie Marshall, Cora Marshall, Scarlett Cates, and Kimber Wiley; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.
