Liberty, MO: Bobbie Dean Beeks, 93, of Liberty, Missouri, passed away at his home on Wednesday, September 11, 2024. Bobbie was born on January 12, 1931, the oldest child of Cecil Harvey and Floy Maxine (Gibson) Beeks at Eagleville, Missouri. He grew to adulthood in Martinsville with his parents and two sisters: Wilma Grace and Clara Belle. Their parents ran the Beeks general store and gas station in Martinsville. Bobbie graduated from Martinsville High School in 1949. He then attended Chillicothe, Missouri Business School until the sudden death of his father in February 1950 when he then returned to Martinsville to help with the store.

     Bobbie married Maureen Hunter on August 18, 1951 in Bentonville, Arkansas. He joined the United States Air Force on December 21, 1951 serving in Texas at the Amarillo Air Force Base. He was honorably discharged on December 1, 1955. While stationed in Texas, Bobbie and Maureen had two sons: Kenneth Douglas and Dwight Lynn. After being discharged from the Air Force, they lived in Raytown, Missouri for a short time where he worked for IBM. They moved to Liberty, Missouri where their daughter Sandra Denise was born. In about 1962, the family moved to Winfield, Illinois for a year before moving to Wheaton, Illinois. Deva Beth was born there making the family complete. After his retirement from IBM, Bobbie worked for Sears in Carol Stream, Illinois before the family returned to Liberty in 2002.

     Bobbie was a member of the Liberty Christian Church in Liberty and the American Legion Post 95 in Liberty for 39 years. He served with the Honor Guard for as long as his health permitted.

     He is survived by his children, Kenneth (Trish) Beeks of VA, Dwight (Martha) Beeks of West Chicago, IL, Sandra Beeks and Deva Beeks of Liberty, MO; grandchildren, Tyler, Jeff, Andrew, Claire Christine, and Claire Renee; four great grandchildren and one due in December. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Maureen; sisters, Wilma Grace Bartlett and Clara Belle Gentry; and step-sister, Dorothy Adkins.

     Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at Roberson Funeral Home, Bethany, MO. A visitation will be from 1:00 – 2:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Allen Cemetery in Eagleville, MO. Memorials are suggested to the American Legion Post 95 in Liberty, MO or the Allen Cemetery in care of Roberson Funeral Home, P.O.
