Billy Lee Thornton, 1931 – 2018
Weston, MO: Billy Lee Thornton, 87, Weston, MO (formerly of Pattonsburg, MO) passed away Friday, June 22, 2018 at a North Kansas City, MO hospice house.
He was born May 8, 1931 in Allendale, Missouri the son of Clayton W. and Reba B. (DeHart) Thornton.
On December 9, 1972, he married Alma Lucille Morgan in Berthoud, Colorado. She survives of the home.
Billy served in the U. S. Army and retired from the National Guard in 1999. He was a bricklayer and was a member of the Bricklayers Union Local #5. Billy enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoyed playing cards, was an avid gardener and could not pass up a garage sale or auction.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents and a step-son, Harry Thornton.
Survivors in addition to his wife of 45 years, Lucille, are children, Joyce (Mike) Newman, Platte City, MO, Barbara Tyree, Savannah, MO, Susan (Dennis) Arn, Savannah, MO, Steve (Neva) Thornton; 11 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; step-daughter, Becky (Bart) Braa, Weston, MO; step-son, Roy (Susan) Loder, State of Washington
Memorial Graveside Services and Inurnment with Military Rites will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, June 28 in Foster Cemetery, New Hampton, MO under the direction of Roberson Funeral Home, Bethany, MO.
