Bedonna Ruth (Parker) Holcomb, 73 (formerly of Bethany, MO) passed away Saturday, March 12, 2016 surrounded by loved ones at her home in St. Joseph, MO.
She was born August 15, 1942 in Harrison County Missouri to Laurence and Wilma (McCoy) Parker. Bedonna graduated from Bethany High School in 1960. She married Alan Lynn Holcomb in 1961.
She worked at the First National Bank of Bethany for 16 years and then moved to St. Joseph to work for the Postal Service as the Postmaster’s Secretary, before transitioning into working as Postmaster of Rushville, where she retired at the age of 62. Bedonna lived a long and beautiful life, in which she enjoyed traveling the country, and visiting with friends and family. In her last days Bedonna was under the wonderful care of Mosaic Life Care Hospice.
She is survived by her two sons: Daren Lee Holcomb and Todd Alan (LuAnn) Holcomb; 5 grandchildren: Trent, Christopher, Ashley, Jessica, and Patrick; and 1 great grandchild, Dean; brother, Raymond (Beverly) Parker; sister, Anna Beth (Richard) Fish; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She is also survived by her companion of 26 years, Jim Wilson.
Funeral Services honoring her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 16 at Roberson Funeral Home, Bethany, MO. Burial will take place in Miriam Cemetery Bethany, MO. The Family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
