Rolla, MO: August John Whitt passed away in Rolla, Missouri on August 3rd, 2018 at the age of 17.
August was born on February 8th, 2001 in Rolla, Missouri. He was entering his Senior year at Rolla High School, where his teachers would say he was their model student.
August loved board games, music (the kind without lyrics), waffles, and animals – especially his cat Rory and his grandma’s dog Molly. His friends and family will remember him for his great curly blond hair (which he also loved), being a true friend, the best brother, his tender heart, his constant smile, his clever and witty sense of humor, and his amazing hugs.
Survivors include his parents Jason and Jennifer Whitt of Rolla, Missouri; sister Hannah Whitt of Columbia, Missouri; grandparents John and Marcia Whitt of Bethany, Missouri; grandparents Phil and Nancy Young of Holts Summit, Missouri; Aunt Stacey Whitt of Bethany, Missouri, Aunt Sarah Whitt and cousins Noah and Juni of Carlsbad, California; Uncle Jeremy Whitt of Kansas City, Missouri; Aunt Ellen and Uncle Tyler Zimmer with cousins Teddy and Jerome of St. Louis, Missouri; Uncle Steven and Aunt Allison of Columbia, Missouri; and many other loved great aunts, uncles, cousins and other extended family.
A visitation for family and friends is scheduled for Tuesday, August 7th at Greentree Christian Church in Rolla from 5:00pm-8:00pm. A private funeral service for family only is scheduled for Wednesday, August 8th which will be officiated by Larry Morris of St. James, Missouri. On Thursday, August 9th at 2:00pm August will be laid to rest at the Fairview Cemetery in Bethany, Missouri.
In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the August Whitt Memorial Scholarship fund at Phelps County Bank in Rolla, Missouri. Memorial cards are also available at Null and Son Funeral Home in Rolla, Missouri.
