Anna Mae (Fitzgerald) Gartin, 97, of Higginsville, Mo formerly of Ridgeway, passed away on September 10, 2021 in Kansas City.
Anna Mae was born at Ridgeway to Elza Fitzgerald and Alice (Cocklin) Fitzgerald on December 9, 1923.
She went to school at Ridgeway graduating in 1941. Anna Mae remembered her school days fondly and still had a senior class photo hung on her wall at the time of her passing.
She married Harold Gartin on September 7th, 1946 in Kansas City, Ks. They had a son, John and daughter, Ronice.
Anna Mae worked as a switchboard operator and in accounting for Santa Fe Railroad in both Kansas City and Topeka, Ks for many years retiring in 1988. She was heavily involved in her church and lived her life with great dedication to her faith. She enjoyed Royals baseball, always kept a spotless home, and will forever be remembered as the best cook in the family.
Anna Mae is preceded in death by her husband Harold, son John, and two sisters, Mary Bennett and Mildred Ramey.
Anna Mae is survived by daughter: Ronice Bevan, daughter-in-law: Cheri Gartin and grandson Jeff Gartin as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made in Anna Mae’s honor to the recipient of the donor’s choice. The musical programs of the churches she attended always held a special place in her heart.
