Anna Lee (McCollum) Nash-Ulferts, most recently of Chandler, AZ, passed away on May 24, 2021 after a long illness. She was surrounded by family and showered with much deserved love and attention in her final days.

Known as Anna Lee to her childhood friends and Ann in her professional life, she was born in Bethany, MO to Harvey Leland ā€œPeteā€ and Lois McCollum. She graduated from Southwest High School in 1958 near the top of her class and went to University of Missouri, before transferring to University of Kansas City (known as KCU and now UMKC). She graduated from KCU with a degree in History in 1963 and later earned a Masterā€™s in Adult Education from Arizona State in 1978.

Ann worked for over 20 years as the Activity Director at Towerpoint Resort, an RV park for active adults in Mesa, AZ. She was beloved by the residents and her colleagues and was known for her tireless work ethic, easy sense of humor, obsessive organizational skills, and the ability to get along with absolutely everyone.

Ann was a devoted and supportive mother to all of her kids, never missing a concert, race, or game. She loved being part of her kidsā€™ lives.  She loved her work, having lunch and visiting with her friends and family, keeping a beautiful, immaculate home, and NCAA basketball. She attended a number of NCAA tournaments with her kids and grandkids, including one Final Four. She also was a longtime member of the Methodist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Don Ulferts; her children, Nan Williams (Eddie), Thom Nash (Pauli), Amy Nash (Sarah), and Elizabeth Blazek Thompson (Josh); her grandchildren, Mia, Austin, Peyton, Keaton, Otis, and Felix; as well as her cousin Steve Stults (Dee Ann), her longtime childhood best friends, Brenda (Trainer) Preheim and Sandy (Edson) Grundeman, and many other friends. She was predeceased by her parents, her son Neil, and several aunts and uncles.

Ann was lovely, generous, and kind, and teemed with integrity. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
