Stanberry, MO: Andrew “Andy” Evan Lindner, 40, of Stanberry, Missouri (formerly of St. Louis, MO), passed away Thursday, August 15, 2024, at Mosaic Life Care at St. Joseph, Missouri, held by his wife, children and mother. They will continue to hold him in their hearts forever.

Andy was born on June 22, 1984 in St. Louis, Missouri, to Wayne and Rita Lindner. He married Megan Elizabeth Fagan of Clarksdale, Missouri, on May 22, 2009. Andy and Megan were joined by Lincoln Wayne (age 10), Whittaker Evan (age 7), and Vera Kathryn (age 3) Lindner, and the house hasn’t been quiet since.

Andy was affectionately known as Big Andy, Andyman, and Baby Al.  Andy didn’t know a stranger and few forgot him once they met.

Andy graduated from Hazelwood West Sr. High School; class of 2002, received a Bachelor’s degree in Ministry and Leadership from Missouri Baptist University in 2007, and an Advanced degree in Funeral Directing and Mortuary Science from Des Moines Area Community College in 2011.

Andy canvassed the eastern side of Missouri the first two decades of his life. From attending concerts and following the Cardinals and the Blues (for whom he drove a Zamboni and sharpened skates) to stadiums and arenas throughout the Midwest, to working three jobs at a time. Andy also served as Director of Camp Penuel to provide Christ-centered camping to inner city and at–risk kids in Ironton, Missouri. His passion for youth ministry called him to the Northwest corner of Missouri to serve alongside his beloved childhood pastor, David Long, at Stanberry First Baptist Church. Here he met and married Megan and gained a host of family members. Andy was also introduced to the bounty of hunting in NWMO through his welcoming new community, as well as his future wife’s uncle, John Christensen. Andy made Stanberry his home and found peace through backroad highway driving, bird watching at The Ridge, catching the 10 o’clock news with his mother, and delighted in pranking his mother-in-law’s Amazon cart.

Andy found his purpose in service to the area as a Funeral Director with Alan and Wyvonne Roberson of Roberson Funeral Home and their seven locations. He served as the elected Coroner of Gentry County since 2012, and was a Church Deacon, Grand River Ambulance Board Member, and president of the Pizz Ridge Indian Head Campground until his death. Andy loved when he could spend a Saturday morning with his boys at Big 4 Hardware, visiting with the “old guys.” Andy’s passions were spending quality time with his family, playing a round of golf or poker with friends, and cheering very loudly for the Stanberry Bulldogs. Megan still doesn’t understand how he was able to forecast game plays, but he did so with great accuracy.  His three children, however, brought him his greatest joy.

Andy was preceded in death by his father, Wayne Lindner, grandparents Glenn and Ruby (Crumb) Lindner, and Denver and Frances (Robbins) Melton

Survivors include his wife, Megan (Fagan) Lindner, their children Lincoln, Whittaker, and Vera, all of the home; mother, Rita Lindner of Stanberry (formerly St. Louis); uncle, Michael Gleen (wife, Melissa) Lindner of Skokie, IL; cousin, Michael Aaron (Bethany) Lindner and their children, Clark and Parker all of Morton Grove, IL; father- and mother-in-law Kevin and Glory (Christensen) Fagan; sister- and brother-in-law Kathryn and Phillip Schwarz and their children Henry and Harvey Schwarz; grandparents, Fred and Janie Christensen of St. Joseph, MO; uncles, aunts, and cousins by marriage (Christensen and Fagan) and innumerable friends and faithful dog, Mirabel.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 23 at St. Columba Catholic Church, Conception, MO under the direction of Roberson Funeral Home, Stanberry, MO.  Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Stanberry, MO.  The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday, August 22 at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials may be made to the Andy Lindner Memorial Fund for the children’s education in care of Roberson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 153, Stanberry, MO  64489.  Online condolences may be left at www.robersonfuneralhome.com.
