BETHANY, MO: Alan E. Williams, 74, (formerly of Shubert, NE) passed away Sunday, September 25, 2016 at Mosaic Life Care, St. Joseph, MO.
Alan was born July 3, 1942 in Shubert, NE, the son of Harold and Nevada (Lewis) Williams.
On March 29, 1972 he married Carole J. Shubert in Miami, OK.
Alan served in the United States Navy from 1965 to 1967, followed by reserve duty until 1970. He was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal, National Defense Medal, and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal.
Alan retired as the Parks Supervisor for the City of Bethany. He was an avid fisherman. He enjoyed being outdoors, mowing and maintaining ball fields at the park as well as the football field at South Harrison High School.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Patricia Hubbard.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Carole, of the home; son, Brian Brocker (Kimberly Daniels), of Columbia, MO; daughter, Shelly Dees (Ruben), Round Rock, TX; grandchildren, Samantha Dees and Brent and Aaron Daniels; brothers, Wayne Williams (Sharon), Shubert, NE and Steve Williams (Chris) of Omaha, NE.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 30, at Roberson Funeral Home, Bethany, MO. A Graveside Service with Military Rites will be 3:00 p.m. Friday at the Prairie Union Cemetery, Shubert, NE. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 Thursday at the funeral home.
